LGBT Small Group Frequently Asked Questions

Are these vacations LGBT exclusive? Are they full-ship/full-resort?
No. We do not do full ship or resort charters. Instead, we reserve a small number of rooms and make them available to individuals traveling in our group. This allows each traveler to have a typical vacation experience, while also being able to hang out with other members of the LGBT community and allies. If you are interested in an LGBT exclusive cruise, we can help you plan a vacation with Atlantis Events or Vacaya.
How large will the group be?

The primary goal is to be able to make new friends and we feel that is best achieved in smaller groups. There is no minimum group size, so at the very least each trip will include two people; my husband and myself. Typically we strive to have between 5 and 20 people.

Are all vacations LGBT friendly?

Absolutely! My husband and I personally go on every trip that we offer and we make sure that wherever we visit is LGBT friendly. We make sure that any resorts or cruise lines that we work with are supportive. The majority of our trips are cruises on Royal Caribbean, which in 2016 was named the first ever “Gay Travel Approved” cruiseline by Gaytravel.com

What activities will there be?

Typically we don’t have any set activities, instead opting to let everybody see what is available and decide for themselves what to do. Cruise vacations in particular have a bunch of onboard activities to choose from. Some popular activities we have had in the past include:

  • Visiting gay bars
  • Karaoke
  • Group meals
  • Escape room
  • Pool time
  • Trivia contests
  • Pub crawls
I don’t identify as LGBT but I am an ally, can I still join?

Absolutely! Allies are a core part of the LGBT community and are definitely welcome. No matter your sexual identity, people who believe that love is love are part of the same community and should stick together.

I travel solo. Are there any discounts for solo travelers? Can you match me with a roommate?

Most vacation packages are priced assuming two people per room and unfortunately do not offer any major discounts for solo travelers. Cruises will halve the cost of taxes and port fees, and any costs that are charged per person (i.e. drink packages and gratuities) will only charge you for one person.

At this time we are unable to provide any roommate matching services.

Why are prices not listed on the website?

Due to marketing regulations, we can not publicly advertise rates that are below the lowest price available when booking direct. Since we typically get access to discounted rooms we can not display those prices. Please email me to get a quote of the discounted price.

Am I paying more to join the group compared to booking the vacation myself?

Absolutely not, quite the opposite in fact! These groups are not a full or partial charter that costs extra to join. As a matter of fact, we can typically negotiate group discounts from the cruise lines and resorts that we visit. Either way, there are no additional costs or fees to be a part of our group.

What is included in my quoted price? What will cost extra?

Different vacations include different amenities.

For cruises:

  • Meals are included in the main dining room and buffet
  • Water, lemonade, basic coffee, tea, and juice are included
  • Many on board activities including water slides, rock climbing, ice skating, karaoke, etc are included
  • A stateroom of your choice
  • Soda, alcohol, and internet access are not included.
  • Excursions and activities off the ship are not included
  • Daily gratuities are not included

Many of our cruises do also come with On Board Credit which will count towards any purchases you make.

Are there payment plans available?

Yes, and they are completely interest free. Every vacation will have a deposit due amount and a final payment date. The deposit will be due when you first make the reservation and is usually fully refundable until final payment date. If a deposit is non-refundable, we will make that clear before charging it. Final payment date is typically 2-3 months before the vacation, and at that time payment is due in full. You can schedule as many or as few payments as you would like, as long as the full cost is paid by final payment date. Once the final payment date has passed, the vacation is no longer refundable.
